Automatic LCR-meter, Smart Tweezers, Grows Presence in Japan with Alpha Corporation

WATERLOO, Ontario - March 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Siborg Systems Inc. released their innovative tool for testing and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology nearly 10 years ago. Today, the device has grown worldwide and has gained a new distribution partner with Alpha Corporation in Chiba, Japan.

Alpha Corporation is a distributor of niche testing tools, materials and machinery for electronics. They primarily offer imported products to Japanese clients, and also offer unique test equipment for PCBs.

This is the third deal Siborg has signed to expand distribution in Japan and surrounding countries, bringing the fully automatic LCR-meter to a broader range of clients.

With just a touch of the integrated tweezers' tips to a component, Smart Tweezers [http://www.smarttweezers.us] automatically identify the type of component and measures for Resistance (R), Capacitance (C) and importantly, Inductance (L). Smart Tweezers offers component evaluation of all types of passive and through-hole components with the speed and accuracy of conventional bench-type testers without the bulk or setting-up.

The combination of a small display, a highly accurate LCR-meter and a set of precision tweezers was designed specifically for testing and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology (SMT) on or off PCBs. The newest model, the ST5 features designated Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) measurements, component sorting, and continuity and diode testing with an estimated 6 times higher basic accuracy of 0.2% than older models.

The 2 oz., nearly pen-sized unit is easily held and operated with just one hand. A mechatronic design allows Smart Tweezers to have well defined and very low parasitics that are easily eliminated with the semi-automatic offset subtraction feature.
