By: Workplace Law Workplace Law’s Associate Director and FM Legal Update Chairman, Rob Castledine, will open the programme with a Corporate Manslaughter open debate session – five years on, how effective has it been? Rob will discuss recent prosecutions under the Corporate Manslaughter Act and the approach being taken with fatal accident cases. The remainder of the programme will incorporate health and safety, HR and employment law and an environmental update, bringing together the very latest law and regulation – including key actions arising from the Lofstedt report, revisions to the Construction Design and Management Regulations and changes to RIDDOR. Head of Environment at Workplace Law, Peter Watts, will provide key information on changing environmental legislation, such as UK waste policy, and the possible effects on business. Greenhouse gas reporting and using the Green Deal effectively will also be covered. Tar Tumber, HR Consultant at Workplace Law, will inform on the major changes to employment law – from the key changes to redundancy and the compensatory award for unfair dismissal to an update on the developments with TUPE.
