Join the Swim the Tees Challenge at your local Tees Active Pool in aid of Butterwick

March 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Tees Active have organised a sponsored Swim the Tees Challenge in a bid to raise money for the Butterwick hospice. There are four challenges to choose from which will run from Monday 11th February – Sunday 21st April 2013. Instead of swimming in the real Tees River, entrants will be able to take part in their local Tees Active swimming pool.  

There are four different swimming challenges to choose from which consist of swimming the length of one Tees destination to another. For example, challenge one is to swim 4.5 miles/288 lengths which is the equivalent to swimming from the Tees Barrage to the Riverside Stadium. For those who are looking for the ultimate challenge, they can choose number four which includes swimming 23.5 miles/1488 lengths, the equivalent of completing all of the listed challenges. These lengths can be done any time until the 21st April and to help entrants along the way they will be given 30 discounted £1 swims to use during their challenge.

For those interested in the challenge, they must pay a registration fee which will be £10 for adults, £5 for over 60s and children and £20 for families or groups of four. The fee includes a log card to keep track of progress, a sponsor form, 30 discounted £1 swims, swim tips from the professional advisors at Tees Active and a certificate upon completion. It is not too late to join in the fun for a worthwhile cause.
