Midstate Dodge teams up with River Bend Career & Technical Center

BARRE, Vt. - March 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Midstate Dodge recently worked with River Bend Career & Technical Center in Bradford Vermont to provide a co-op experience for one of their young students.  This collaboration allowed River Bend to send over a student from their automotive technology program, to shadow and work with experienced technicians at Midstate Dodge.  

Through this partnership, River Bend's student got to work with Brandon, a fully trained level 4 Chrysler Certified Technician and Duane, a Chrysler Certified technician with either level 3 or 4 training in all skill areas.  The partnership allows aspiring students to get outside the classroom and get "real world" experience.  River Bend’s student had a chance to work with Midstate's senior technicians on repair jobs that included heavier work then what the student would usually experience in the technical center.   This partnership also allows Midstate's technicians the chance to interact with co-op students and discuss new trends that are being taught in the school systems today.

The co-op student got to assist with the replacement of a clutch and swapping out a transmission, work the student said he had not experienced before.  Midstate Dodge has provided co-op experiences to students from not only River Bench Career and Technical Center, but the Barre Technical Center over the past five years.

Midstate Dodge is a new and used car dealer in central Vermont selling and servicing New Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Hyundai vehicles.  Their used car inventory is one of the largest in the area and carries a broad range of makes and models.  Current makes include all of the major brands, plus high end makes like Mercedes Benz or Porsche.  River Bend Career & Technical Center provides innovative technical education programs for students from seven area high schools and for adults. Located centrally on the Upper Plain in Bradford, Vermont, adjacent to the Oxbow High School campus, River Bend’s facility includes a state-of-the-art automotive garage, heavy equipment training sites and shop, a complete building trades workshop, and an outstanding commercial kitchen with its own restaurant.
