| Valve Types- Selection, Installation and OperationTop Link Conference and Event Management will once again be hosting a Valve types- Selection, Installation and Operation workshop at the International 5 star hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 1st till 4th of July 2013.
This course has been designed at an intermediate level and it is targeted to individuals who have had some experience with valves but have not had the opportunity to be exposed to some of the finer details of these vital pieces of equipment. Delegates will be required to solve some algebraic equations and draw diagram and graphs as practical examples and case studies will be provided. Participants that successfully complete this course will be able to specify valves for the majority of applications requiring isolation or control. The identification of the root cause of any failure using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) procedures forms an integral part of the program. As other concepts will be covered with this, it will form the basis of formulating strategies aimed at ensuring optimum Time Between Failures (MTBF) in valves. John Tonkin, trainer of the workshop, started off his career in power stations, John progressed through the merchant marine (steam) and onto the design, marketing and after sales support of pumps, pipe work systems and valves. His responsibilities as a director of marketing for one of South Africa’s premier pump companies used for the research and development and for the local and international marketing departments for this company. His style is practical and straight forward with the ultimate program objective being positive behavior change. SASOL Synfuels, Anglo American, Wilo Pumps South Africa Xylem, ESKOM and Petrosa are some of his clients. He has been offering practical solutions to all aspects of the fluid movement market. This workshop will be covering topics such as : • Valve hydrodynamics • Valve flow resistance • Valve and piping system interaction • Cavitation and its implication in valves • Flashing and choked flow • Pressure transients (hammer in systems): A valve perspective • Classifications of valves • Valve components and materials of construction • Conditions of service and some of the consequences • Seat leakage rates • Gaskets and stem packing • Valve patterns for isolation and control • Valve maintenance routines • Valve computer aided design • Valve selection and sizing • An introduction to pressure relief devices • Valve actuators • Predicting noise in control valves • Positioners Please contact Vimy Hue via email vimy.hue@toplink- Contact person: Vimy Hue Marketing Executive Top Link Conference & Event Management Tel: 607 225 4825 Fax:607 226 7351 Email: vimy.hue@toplink- End
