March 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Washington, D.C. The Head of Inbox America, Yoni Elmalem, was among 350 participants at the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) FinNet 2013, held at the World Bank on February 19-20, 2013. Elmalem actively participated in workshops on mobile banking services for SMEs, which are a crucial to Inbox as it expands services to African banks.

FinNet, the IFC’s Access to Finance Advisory annual conference, brings staff, clients, partners and donors together to discuss issues and lessons learned regarding the availability and affordability of financial services around the world.

Hans Rosling, co-founder of the Gapminder Foundation was the keynote speaker for the conference. Rosling presented Gapminder’s innovative tool, which analyzes the development stages and poverty-reduction progress of countries around the world. Inbox can enhance its already successful reputation in Mobile Banking projects, by using Gapminder’s tool to provide economic and demographic context to mobile banking projects.

IFC’s Access to Finance Advisory Services works with financial intermediaries to encourage the sustainable provision of financial services in developing countries, by counseling clients on the creation and management of corporate governance; credit reporting, risk management and mobile payment systems; and environmental and social standards.

“Having the unique opportunity to discuss Mobile and SME Banking services with industry experts provided me insight into the various and creative products, services and methods that are being offered around the globe,” said Yoni Elmalem. “FinNet was a great networking event for meeting actors and potential partners in the Mobile Banking sector.”

Expanding ties with IFC will provide Inbox with future partnerships and more business opportunities. Inbox looks forward to sharing operational experience working with banks to increase mobile services in Africa at FinNet 2014.
