The Best Time of the Year Double Album Now Available on Jamendo

Dec. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- ArtisTech Media is proud to announce the release of The Best Time of the Year albums on Jamendo.  This marks the culmination of a collaborative holiday project by two prominent Creative Commons based music websites, ccMixter and Jamendo.  

The two communities composed original songs, recorded well-known public domain favorites, and remixed these tracks as part of their ‘Tis the Season Remix Event last year.  All of the tracks were released with Creative Commons licenses which embrace the giving nature of the season by making the songs available for everyone to download for free.  This year, The Best Time of the Year double album was curated by ccMixter and Jamendo to continue spreading the joy of their collaboration.  

"Jamendo and ccMixter both have such special communities that are talented, innovative and supportive of free culture,” shared Nicole Maroutsos, Music/Community Manager of Jamendo.  “Joining up for this project seemed like a perfect, natural fit!  We're really happy with the final product and find the albums representative of the kinds of diverse music you can find on Jamendo."

The double album is comprised of two distinct sides.  The first side of The Best Time of the Year is full of new festive songs and traditional holiday favorites.  The second side, The Best Time of the Year?, explores the darker side of the season.  Both albums feature a wide range of genres including pop, rock, electronica, blues, classical, and even punk.
