Newly released single “Better Off Dead” by Peter Galperin, celebrates life.

Dec. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Peter Galperin has been writing music since he was a young child. As the son of classically trained musicians he was exposed to a spectrum of sounds and cultural influences that has shaped his musical style throughout his life. A highly creative individual, Peter composes in an eclectic style borrowing from Jazz and the Afro/Latin rhythms of Brazilian/West African music.  An online review of his 2010 debut CD “Perfect World Today” by Robert Stevens Silverstein on Music Web Express 3000 compares him to artist Paul Simon “at his most folk-rockingest...”  Other reviews include the following:

Peter's live shows, as creative and layered as his recorded songs, consist of piano/accordion, guitar, bass, drums/percussion, and horns.  Over the past two years he has played at over 25 venues in and around New York City including The Bitter End and The Metropolitan Room.  

Peter Galperin is excited to announce the release of his single “Better Off Dead” from his yet to be released CD “A Disposable Life” (set for release in Spring 2013).  Bringing together most of the players from the live band, the CD also features guest artist, multi-instrumentalist Robert Aaron on several of songs giving the music that extra lift far and above anything on the airwaves today.

The title “Better Off Dead” is from the chorus line of a song about not letting your demons get the best of you and truly embracing life.  He immerses himself into this serious subject matter (depression) by allowing his inner thought process to channel through his music.  

“All of my songs share a black humor/self-depreciating sensibility, along with a curiosity for life, and the world in general”, states Peter.  He writes of the mundane and the complex; admits to what he doesn’t understand and questions what he already knows.

“Better Off Dead” is only part of the totality of who Peter truly is, however, it is an indicator of his intellectual and musical curiosity.  

His prior release “Perfect World Today” was released in 2010 and received great reviews.
