across a wide wavelength range (400-1600 nm). Our technology is based on a semi-randomized (non-periodic)
micro-structure that work wells with collimated and divergent sources, coherent and incoherent light, white or single-wavelength sources, LEDs or a laser diodes, or halogen/filament lamps.
Luminit applies its LSD structures directly on a rigid polycarbonate surface to make a very high transmission rigid diffuser.
Unlike competition, Acal BFi's product entails direct replication of our microstructure into an index matched epoxy layer that's in intimate contact with the substrate (2 layers), while competition’
product is the lamination of thin film diffuser to a rigid substrate with the use of a pressure sensitive adhesive - PSA (total of 4 layers), which is inherently less efficient and more importantly less reliable since the possibility of delamination/
outgassing/bubbling is so great.
Acal BFi also has the ability to monolithically integrate our microstructure into an injection molded lens or window using UL listed resin systems that meet your flame requirements.
