Wavelength Meter for Pulsed Infrared Lasers

March 26, 2012 - PRLog -- BFi OPTiLAS, pan-European partner of Bristol Instruments, Inc., the leader in laser wavelength measurement technology, has introduced a new laser wavelength meter  to know the exact wavelength of infrared pulsed lasers and OPOs.  

The new model 821B-IR is designed to operate over the entire wavelength range of 1.5 to 5 μm. Proven Fizeau interferometer-based technology is used to measure the absolute wavelength of pulsed and CW lasers to an accuracy as high as ± 0.004 nm.

The system is automatically calibrated with a well-known wavelength standard. A measurement rate of 200 Hz and other features allow for convenient integration into an experiment to provide real-time wavelength data.

Broad wavelength coverage: The model 821 is available in three broad wavelength configurations to satisfy most experimental requirements. These ranges are the VIS (350 - 1100 nm), NIR (630 - 1700 nm), and IR (1.5 - 5.0 μm). Measurement accuracy is guaranteed at any wavelength within these ranges because the system’s uncoated etalons do not require a complex calibration to account for optical dispersion.

Those unique characteristics should fulfil the need of a variety of applications such as molecular spectroscopy and chemical and environmental sensing.
