LSR to organize annual sports meet from October 27

Oct. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- New Delhi: Lady Shri Ram College for Women is hosting its annual sports festival, Dr. Bharat Ram Open Sports Meet, from 27th to 29th October 2012. The event is one of the most eagerly awaited of its kind amongst college goers, and sees the active participation of student from over 60 colleges in and around Delhi, in numerous sports including athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, lawn tennis, shooting, table tennis and volleyball.

The atmosphere over the three-day affair pulsates with energy and enthusiasm, as a number of college students battle it out to win accolades for their respective institutions. The fest witnesses participation from a wide demographic of university students, be it enormously talented international players or simply those who revel in the thrill of competing in sports.  

This year, the inter-college sporting tournament will witness, more than ever before, the participation of numerous national as well as international players, in various different events.

Usha International, India’s leading consumer durables company, is the primary sponsor for the event, and is in its third year of association with the sports fest of the college. Their long standing commitment is testimony to their own encouragement for young talent in the field of sports. The chief guest for the event is not only an alumna of the college, but also a former sports president of it. Senior Advocate Pinky Anand will be present for the inauguration, and commencement of events.

With its progression over the years, Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet has come to be associated with the celebration of sports. It promotes a healthy sense of competition in a friendly atmosphere, resulting therefore, in a sense of camaraderie amongst even competitors. The players who emerge victorious are lauded by the college. All participants in every event are encouraged to play – to give their best shot, be dedicated, work hard and have fun – ideals which inevitably lead to success, and which are imbibed by the LSR school of thought.
