If you know anything about wood working then you know that drying your wood is important. There are different methods used for drying wood and the most used method today is the kiln dried method. According to Tom McPoyle wood working experts mostly prefer the air dried method because it seems to be the best way to preserve the wood. There is a process to air drying adds Tom; wood that is air dried needs to have the ends sealed. Sealing the ends keeps the moisture from leaving the wood too quickly which can cause it to split.
