-- Recently, there was a press release from the Mumbai police, issued by the Additional Commissioner of Police, Mr Praveen Salunke, which talked about how Mumbai police will start visiting every residential society encouraging them to install CCTV Systems at their premises. This statement proves one thing about Mumbai- they are moving the London way. But its not the commercial capital of India alone, which is bent on making its societies more secure than ever. Other cities too are deciding to rely more on technology when it comes to Security.
In such times, Incept, the leading brand for Biometric system in India for SMEs (read: Zee News Awards, ET Now Awards, Justdial, SM Entrepreneur magazine etc.), has also launched a new program called "Opex", which offers CCTV Systems to residential societies on Rent. This ensures almost nil capital expenditure for societies, and everything is taken care of by OPerational EXpenditure alone. Societies are used to such operational expenditure in almost every part of their lives- be it the physical security providing security guards, laundry guys, or the house maids.
So, from a business perspective, such a plan looks like being in the right direction. A similar campaign has also been launched in Mumbai a few months ago by Zicom which was called "Make Mumbai Safe". This campaign also focuses on making Mumbai a better place, in relation to safety of residential societies. Incept Opex also moves in similar directions, but with certain unique twists of its own. Incept focuses entirely on its Service strength and its proposals do not want you to have any minimum Lock-In period. It also does not care about the ownership of the systems- if you don't find Incept services to be good enough for you, get another provider to take care of your security. Its as simple as changing your laundry-man, after he mistakenly messes with your shirts. Probably, Incept is confident enough that such a chance will never arrive.
In any case, companies in the security domain are taking the right steps by focusing not only on the big corporate world, but also giving due importance to the people who are in the highest need of security- individuals.
Now, let us end this article with the imagination of a scenario.
Imagine a residential society with hundred plus flats spread in 3 buildings, and thousands of residents, with one main gate manned by security guard, and the rest covered by boundaries. Well, imagination would not be tough, because this may well be your own society. Now, think for a moment, whether you are safe enough with one watchman in charge of property worth crores and lives beyond valuation. Probably, you need 3 more security guards stationed at the 3 boundaries and another head security guard to guard these 4 security men. This may not be enough as you will also a designate from amongst the residents, who will be incharge of monitoring this entire entourage of security professionals. Or else, there is a better option, buy and install CCTV Camera systems at strategic locations, and no need to worry about hiring more security guards.
But that is still not the best option. Companies like Incept are ensuring that the best option changes to the model of providing Electronic Security as rented Service. Simply, replace the salary you would have paid to the extra guards by rent which needs to be paid to a third party expert. No need of purchasing systems, thus no need of taking extra money out of the society's budget. Use the budget towards your community programs, leave the rest to this new army of security service experts!
