The Ujima Awards Celebration Presents A Wine Tasting Fundraiser

Sept. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- On April 7, 2012 Fashion For A Cure and I.M.A.N.E.E. collaborated and introduced The Ujima Awards to New Jersey’s communities. This celebration highlighted unsung heroes who existed throughout communities committing noble acts of courage.  Fueling off the success of the celebration, The Ujima Awards calls for the community’s support in the production their future endeavors. With the insight and opinions of supporters, The Ujima Awards decided to host a fundraiser that everyone can benefit from. When asked about the decision of a wine tasting event as opposed to the traditional fundraiser, Sean Christopher shared, “We did not just want this to be your every day fundraiser; we wanted those to support us to enjoy the event. We have a lot of thing in store for them.”

Based on the meaning of Ujima, this fundraiser will celebrate the collective work and responsibility of the communities, nonprofits, businesses and The Ujima Awards. Hosted in a New York City loft, this wine tasting event caters to its entire audience. Along with an educational wine tasting, supporters have the pleasure of participating in a silent auction, enjoying freshly rolled cigars, and an opportunity to network with some of New York and New Jersey prominent non-profits and businesses.  “We’re excited for everyone to see what we have for them on October 5, 2012,” stated Lauren Jackson in her discussion of the fundraiser event.

About The Ujima Awards Celebration:

Titled after the third principle of Kwanzaa, Ujima, meaning collective work and responsibility, this ceremony is a celebration of individuals as well as organizations for their relentless and selfless service to build and maintain communities throughout New Jersey. We set aside this time to honor the loyalty and dedication of change agent in our community. In addition, we want to recognize their commitment to personifying and resolving the tribulations of the individuals. The evening will consist of community performances along with award recognition of four individuals/organizations.
