The BizWorld Foundation Partners with Informatica to Host Camp BizWorld

Sept. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- San Francisco, CA – September 5, 2012– The BizWorld Foundation is excited to announce that on the 13th and 14th of September, Informatica will host a two-day Camp BizWorld event designed to teach vital entrepreneurship and business skills to Fourth and Fifth grade students from Beechwood School in nearby Menlo Park.

“BizWorld Camps are a unique opportunity to endow students with critical real-world skill sets, and also represent the first exposure many young participants will have to a corporate environment. The Camp experience is profoundly inspiring, and has the power to positively shape many students’ future academic and career choices,” states Harry Gould, BizWorld Chairman and senior vice president, Worldwide Alliances, Informatica Corporation.

The children assume the roles of presidents and vice presidents as they take part in the full entrepreneurial cycle, understanding elements of marketing, manufacturing, finance, production and sales. Participants develop important 21st century skills in the process, nurturing critical thinking and leadership capabilities. Each team gains valuable real-world experience as their student companies cultivate business strategies, and ultimately create a classroom-sized micro economy.

Informatica’s Jo Stoner, senior vice president, Worldwide Human Resources, states, “The BizWorld Camp is a worthwhile experience for employee volunteers to encourage and engage our next generation of leaders. Our corporate citizenship program, Informatica Involved (which focuses on education and supporting the personal interests of our employees to give back to the community) is sponsoring the event. Informatica is thrilled to be hosting Camp BizWorld at our Offices.”

The camp will take place September 13th and 14th at Informatica Corporation’s headquarters located in Redwood City.
