Spindle is an important component of CNC router machinery. And the performance is of great concern to the whole cnc equipment. So now let’s learn more about spindle type.
As usual, spindle motor is divided into 2 spindle types: precision finishing spindle and high power cutting spindle.


1. Precision finishing spindle:
a) Features: cnc spindle motor is usually high-speed frequency conversion motor; the power is often smaller below 250W.
b) Advantages: low noise, fast rotating speed, high accuracy.
c) Disadvantages: not good at cutting down thicker material pieces. Besides, as we know cutting ability is also closely related to your cutting machine configuration and right cutting bits.  
d) Applications: especially suitable for processing very fine work pieces, such as seal, name plate, breast plate, gifts articles, etc.


2. High power cutting spindle:
(1) Main applications: This spindle type is mainly used for cutting off thick materials, and with big power engraving machining, particularly excellent at 2D/3D letters cutting carving, but can also make chest card, name tag, stamp etc;
(2) Advantages: High power, strong cutting capability;
(3) According to the motor specialty, high power cutting spindle can normally be sorted as brushless frequency AC motor and brush AC motor; The main difference is:


a) To rotation speed: Brushless frequency AC motor has faster rotate speed, and the whole speed changing range is large as 70060000 RPM; While the maximum speed of common brush AC motor is no more than 24000 RPM;
b) Brushless frequency motor is of higher precision, little wear and small noise; the working noise is much lower than the brush motor.

c) Brushless motor is with good locked-rotor characteristics: Because the transducer has specific current-limiting circuit, so short time rotation blockage will not burn the electric machine; however, brush motor will smoke and burn down very quickly when running overload or rotor blocked, and cannot be restored.

d) The former electric motor adopts frequency conversion control technology for speed regulation; it is professional-class products with long life span, 1 year warranty for free replacing any faulty parts; Could maintain easily by changing high-speed bearing; For the latter motor, very limited 300 hours electric zagreb lifetime will have to change ac motors or carbon brush, so generally carbon brush electric motors are not guaranteed even 1 day!

4. Choose right cnc tools sometimes can maximum productivity to the great limit. Different material quality different hardness, different tool sets & router collets equipped. Woodworking miniature end mills could not be used for granite slotting, specialized stone engraving tools cannot perform well at MDF/acryl 3D relief sculpturing either. Only under the guidance of professional technicians and correct operating methods, the whole machine all parts can cooperate with spindle together to do a good job.
