Aug. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Calgary, August 16, 2012: This September, the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta (CPAA) will be joining cerebral palsy associations around the world in launching the 2012 World Cerebral Palsy (CP) Challenge. Canadians of all ages and abilities have the opportunity this September to participate in a fun, global initiative to help increase awareness for cerebral palsy (CP). The World CP Challenge kicks off on World CP Day, September 4, 2012, and is an exciting four week health and wellness initiative that supports a great local cause.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals and entire companies to get involved in a team-building, healthy lifestyle-promoting event. Challenge participants will form a team of four, and each member will be given a pedometer to track the number of steps you take. Each team will then record its daily step count or amount of time doing any fitness activity, including running, cycling and swimming, and monitor their progress on a personalized World CP Challenge webpage. With more than 45 activities that can be translated into “steps,” this Challenge welcomes all kinds of movement, even for persons with disabilities.

The Challenge runs for 4 weeks from September 4th until October 2nd, 2012. For more information about World CP Challenge, visit http://www.ca.worldcpchallenge.org
