22 New Tech Startups Join Plug and Play's International Acceleration Program

July 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Plug and Play Tech Center welcomes 22 new tech startups from Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal, New Zealand, Singapore and Spain, to kick off its three-month International Acceleration Program’s summer session. As one of the key initiatives for Plug and Play’s international department, the program wraps up with its leading companies joining the competition of new tech startups in Plug and Play’s EXPO.

“There is a growing trend in the Silicon Valley of supporting new international tech companies,” says Jupe Tan, Vice President of International Operations at Plug and Play Tech Center. “While Plug and Play has always featured outstanding, innovative international companies, we’ve noticed a steadily growing improvement over the years.”

Austrian company Blue Monkeys, maker of the free app iVoting, was impressed with their first experience at Plug and Play’s Acceleration Program. “It’s a 360° introduction to the Silicon Valley ecosystem,” says Harald Trautsch, CEO of Blue Monkeys. “It is especially interesting to hear other successful companies tell their story and share their knowledge. Blue Monkeys is making use of our time at Plug and Play to close partnership agreements with UX, PR and SEM specialist for our launch in August. We’re excited!”

“Plug and Play’s Accelerator Program was a wise choice for our company,” says Greg Murphy, Founder of the New Zealand startup, Unleashed Software. “Being handed information and introductions makes the transition to doing business in the valley seamless and truly exciting.”

Plug and Play’s International Acceleration Program was created for entrepreneurs looking to understand their company’s potential in the Silicon Valley, while also exploring business development, investment, mentorship and strategic partnership opportunities. The three-month event starts with a three-day workshop that provides an overview of the Silicon Valley and a variety of topics including funding, pitching, case studies, legal and tax accounting. International companies also have the opportunity to network with successful entrepreneurs from the Plug and Play ecosystem.
