Two King Edward’s School pupils selected for the English Schools’ Athletic Championships

June 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Two King Edward’s School pupils selected for the English Schools’ Athletic Association National Track and Field Championships

Eliza Reid, Year 11, and George Chapman, Year 10, both achieved National Standard in the 200m and 800m respectively, at the South West Schools’ Athletics Championships, held at Exeter Arena on Saturday 23rd June, and go through to the English Schools’ Athletic Association Track & Field Championships taking place in Gateshead on the 5th and 6th July.

Eliza Reid will be competing at the English Schools’ National Finals for the 2nd time.
Eliza ran 25.13 in the Regional round, well within the National standard of 25.4, but slightly off her personal best of 24.94.

Eliza will be making the trip to Newcastle, to compete in her second English Schools’ Athletics Finals on July 5th and 6th.

George Chapman gains place at English Schools’ National Finals
George won the South West Schools’ Inter Boys 800m in a personal best of 1:59.49 giving him automatic qualification for the English Schools’ National Finals in Gateshead next week.

Unfortunately George is unable to compete, as the date clashes with the annual King Edward’s School’s Activities Week, but he will be training hard and competing for Team Bath Athletics Club over the summer.
