Local Grocer To Participate In Upcoming Race For The Cure Event On June 9 To Help In The Fight Against Breast Cancer
 
June 4, 2012 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C. – The Kroger Co. , (http://www.kroger.com/), the nation’s largest traditional grocery retailer with 16 stores throughout the Triangle, has announced its plans to have a Kroger team with more than 85 participants run/walk in and serve as a platinum sponsor the 2012 NC Triangle Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, an annual event celebrating survivorship, honoring those who have lost their battle, and raising funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The event will take place Saturday June 9 at Meredith College, 3800 Hillsborough Street. The race will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will feature a Competitive Open co-ed 5K, the Women’s Only Jeanne’s Race 5K, a Recreational Open co-ed 5K, a One-Mile Fun Run, and a Kids Dash for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. The event will conclude with a Survivor Tribute at 10:30 a.m. in honor of all of the breast cancer survivors.
