Printable Dolch Sight Words Bingo Cards and Bingo Game released by Answers 2000

May 31, 2012 - PRLog -- High Wycombe, UK, 31 May – As part of our efforts to provide tools to teachers for teaching children to read and other skills, Answers 2000 Limited today released a free set  of Dolch Sight Words bingo cards and associated bingo game.

“Sight words are words that children need to learn to recognize and read by sight in order to achieve reading fluency, and a customized version of bingo provides an excellent and enjoyable method for children to practice reading these words, which can be used in combination with flash cards and of course regular book-reading sessions”, said Sunil Tanna, director of Answers 2000 Limited. “We are particularly pleased to include 5 different complete sets of sight word bingo cards, all based on the famous Dolch sight word lists, as this provides an excellent opportunity to progress from beginning reading through the first grades of school.”

To play the game, simply give each student a bingo card, and allow them to check items off their bingo cards as they are called out (the free space square can be checked off at any time).  Prizes should be given to the first players to check off all four corners, any straight line of five squares, and any two intersecting straight lines of five squares.

Also available to download, and also available free of charge, are the settings files for Bingo Card Printer, which can be used to customize the sight word bingo cards, or to produce larger sets of sight word bingo cards.
