-- MTS Management Group would like to congratulate their artists, metal guitar virtuoso Xander Demos and Alaskan country artist Doug Briney, on their nominations for the Southern Star Network's 2013 Independent Artist Of The Year. Nominees were chosen from previous guest appearances on one of the network's shows. Xander had been a guest on Rockin' The World with Erin Perkins, and Doug was a guest on Josie's Hard Country with Josie Passantino. Finalists for the award are chosen via a fan voting system, which begins on August 19, 2012 at www.thesouthernstar.org. The 2012 Southern Star Awards will be taped on August 18th at the Marriott Convention Hotel in Spartansburg, South Carolina, and it will be simulcast live in London. Next year's event will be sponsored exclusively by BMW.

Xander Demos is a metal guitar instrumentalist based in Pittsburgh, PA. His debut CD, mixed by Cj Snare (Firehouse) features the international airplay single, "White Knuckle Driving (WKD.)" He is also a member of the east coast touring chapter of James Rivera's Sabbath Judas Sabbath, a nationally recognized tribute act.
