May 24, 2012 - PRLog -- London's analogue transmitter in Crystal Palace was switched off last month as part of the UK's £630 million switchover. The transmitter, one of 1,154 in throughout the country, was responsible providing TV to a fifth of the population.

Many other parts of the UK have already been switched over and the remaining transmitters are due to be turned off between now and October. Once completed, all properties in the UK will require set top boxes or built-in Freeview systems in order to watch channels on their TV.
