Munger Construction Contributes To Connecticut's Green Revolution

May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Branford, CT; The Pat Munger Construction Company has been recognized by Business New Haven as "a company who demonstrates a competency to build some of the most energy efficient and environmentally sound buildings in Connecticut".

As an example of Munger's green work, Munger was general contractor for Gaylord Hospital's new solar thermal domestic hot water system for domestic use and warm-water therapy.  Munger's role included general trades, permitting, the roof structure and mechanical, and the installation of the solar panels.

Gaylord Hospital has been awarded a 2012 Green Business Award. "It is the largest such installation in Connecticut", said Mark Vere, Gaylord's director of facility support services.  "We are the first hospital in the state to use an alternate energy program for utility use."

The system provides up to two thirds of the domestic hot water needs for the hospital's main complex and results in an annual savings of 7,000 - 9,000 gallons of heating oil.
