Set Up a Streamlined Submission System

Efficient Administration Boosts Writers’ Productivity and Income

May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- (Cape Cod, MA)  Are you a writer intimidated by the submission process?  Have finished manuscripts stacking up, but don’t know how to get them out the door?  If you don’t submit them, they can’t get published and you won’t get paid.    Get over the intimidation and learn how to set up a streamlined, efficient system that makes submission and tracking pleasurable instead of painful.  The online seminar Setting Up Your Submissions System on Saturday, June 2, 2012 walks you through the process.
“When an opportunity crosses your desk, you need to be ready,” Cape Cod based author Devon Ellington, leader of the workshop states.  “If it takes you fifteen minutes to put together a pitch or a submission package, you’ll do it.  If you know it’s going to take two hours to track down all the bits and pieces, you’ll put it off until you ‘have time’.  You’ll never ‘have time’, chances are you won’t ever do it, and you’ll lose out.  Take the time once to set it up, and it will pay off for years, both creatively and financially.”
The online seminar, suitable for business freelancers, non-fiction and fiction writers in both the long and short form, takes place on June 2, and is only $25.  Participants read and participate in a series of lectures and exercises walking them through each part of the system -- bio paragraphs, resumes, queries, pitches, clip files, different sample formats, submission logs, tracking systems.  They will have the opportunity to post parts of their package for individual critique, and, the week after the seminar, receive a PDF with the lectures, exercises, and resources from the seminar.  Participants can hop on and off line as needed throughout the day, and Ms. Ellington will be online continuously from 1-4 PM EST on Saturday, responding in close-to-real time, as well as answering final questions the following day.
Setting Up Your Submission System is part of the Fearless Ink Writing Workshops Fast & Fun Series, short online seminars dedicated to helping writers at all stages of their careers expand their potential.  For more information and registration, visit www.devonellingtonwork.com/17.html.
