Florida Man Turns First Love Reunion Into New Career

May 8, 2012 - PRLog -- The teenage couple met on The Love Boat in the early seventies. Although they lived a distance apart, they kept the love affair alive with love letters and phone calls. Eventually, geography took it's toll.

On and off for thirty years, Rick Bennette knew his first love was someone special, but was never able to find her. It turns out she had him on her mind, too, and with the advantage of his last name remaining the same, she found him using a well known internet search engine. The love was rekindled, and the couple eventually reunited in Grand Central Station when Rick hired a violinist to woo Denise back into his life. It worked. Years later they were married, and Rick documented the entire event in writing. It began as a personal journal, then he learned screenwriting and wrote their story as a two hour film. Eventually, Rick wrote over a dozen more screenplays, mostly fictional love stories.

Movies are expensive and time consuming to produce, so Rick got the idea to turn his screenplays into novels. He has successfully published three of them as eBooks and paperbacks using popular on-line web sites. The initial response was so overwhelming, Rick decided to make writing a full time career. The three time author continues to write more novels with three more planned in 2012. Rick feels that many people have interesting stories to tell, and sites like Smashwords, Amazon and LuLu make it easy for a new author to publish their works overnight at no cost. A new author can begin making an income almost overnight.

Rick Bennette was born in Connecticut and is now a resident of South Florida.
