Kurumba Maldives Appoints New Executive Chef

May 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Kurumba Maldives (http://www.kurumba.com/) is pleased to announce that Mr Ralf Schink, has joined the resort crew beenas the new Executive Chef overseeing the resort’s reputed eight restaurants.

Bringing with him vast experience in the culinary field, traveling and working around the Globe from Europe, East Asia, Middle East and South America, the German born chef has an experience of up to 25 years. Speaking up to six different languages, Mr Schink now considers the Planet as his home.

Mr Schink completed his six years training and apprenticeship in Pastry, Bakery, General & specialized kitchen in Europe and Germany, part of it with MovenpickInternational. He was named a Chef Rotisseur in 2000 by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the first international gastronomic society, founded in Paris in 1950. He stated that his three years apprenticeship in Europe provided him learning of old school culinary, and a basic of traditional French, and Italian cuisines.

Ralf loves homemade and fresh traditional ingredients to be used in his dishes and likes to respect the heritage of a dish with a slight twist saying, “I like adding a bit my own flavor to dishes, while not compromising the traditional roots of the cuisine”.Mr Schink has won many accolades throughout the Middle East and Latin America, and has led a silver service team as a Private Chef to the Spanish Royal Family

Prior to joining Kurumba Maldives (http://www.kurumba.com/), Mr Schink moved to the Middle East for six years and worked across a number of top 5 star hotels in the region including Muscat - Oman at The Sheraton Muscat, & The Al Nahda Resort and Spa and Sands Boutique Hotel – Abudhabi.The Chefwas also Food & Beverage consultant / Corporate Executive Chef at APL the upmarket restaurant management company with top restaurants over Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates

Mr Schink is not new to the island living of Maldives having spent four years before at Reethi Beach – Baa Atoll. He was welcomed by Jason Kruse, General Manager, said that “the resort will look forward to Ralf’s wide range of creativity inspiring Kurumba’s dining experiences and enhancing the dining journey of our 8 restaurants which is a key point of difference to our guests”.
