14 times TT winner Dave Molyneux teams up with Pro-Shift

May 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Manxman Dave Molyneux is returning to the Isle of Man TT Races in 2012 after a year’s sabbatical in 2011 and is hungrier than ever for success. The 2012 event sees Dave renew his partnership with former World Champion and experienced TT passenger Patrick Farrance, they will start number one.

Performance gains were required and with this in mind Dave has teamed up with Derby based gearshift manufacturing company Pro-Shift run by former TT racer and sidecar rival Roy Tansley.

“I felt a radical re-design of traditional quickshifters was long overdue and with Dave’s valuable input Pro-Shift have developed a Closed Loop version of their Internationally successful Bump & Blip System”. Featuring potentiometer feedback and built in computer control, the system gives self adjusting gearshift cuts for flat upshifting and uniquely the system also combines Pro-Shift’s patented Auto-Blip Downshifter, this gives the combination of flat upshifts allied to perfectly sequenced clutchless Auto-Blipped downshifts.

The system is installed on Dave’s DMR ZX6-R sidecar outfit, in testing with a few 150 + MPH runs completed Pro-Shift saw unprecedented manual upshift times of well under 40mS (milliseconds) featuring ramped ignition restore in lower gears allied to the clutchless Auto-Blipped Downshifts, the Closed Loop Bump & Blip System provides Hi Tech Moto GP style gearshifting at an affordable price.

Their bid for TT glory starts with practice running from Saturday the 26th May through till Friday the 1st June, races are on Saturday the 2nd June and Wednesday the 6th June.
