Upcoming Tampa Parenting Workshop To Feature Nationally-Recognized Parenting Expert Loren Buckner

April 30, 2012 - PRLog -- TAMPA, Florida – Psychotherapist and nationally-recognized parenting expert Loren Buckner will present a ParentWise workshop geared towards parents, educators, and mental health professionals in Tampa, Florida on Saturday May 5, 2012. Ms. Buckner will appear at First United Church of Christ (7308 East Fowler Avenue/Tampa, Florida) on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Registration begins at 8:30 AM and the fee to attend a $45 donation to The Bridge Tampa.
An innovative and interactive workshop sponsored in conjunction with The Bridge Tampa, a local non-profit organization, Ms. Buckner’s ParentWise presentation will focus on conscientious parenting, coping with the challenges of family life, and exploring the realities of parenting.
Buckner, a psychotherapist in private practice for over 25 years, knows first-hand the difficulties parents face:  “While parenting is wonderful and rewarding, it is also demanding. Parenthood not only rearranges a parent’s external life, but it shakes up a parent’s internal life, as well. Moreover, children change the dynamic of a couple’s relationship in ways neither parent could have anticipated. Whether they’re coping with infancy or adolescence, parents frequently ask me the same question: ‘Why didn’t anybody tell me what this was really going to be like?’.”
