Dental Anestheisa Faculty Added at Conscious Sedation Consulting

April 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Allan Schwartz DDS, CRNA and Mana Saraghi, DMD have recently joined the faculty of Conscious Sedation Consulting.
Dr. Allan J. Schwartz is a 1980 graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, and completed a General Practice Dental Residency at the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, Missouri. He then continued on with a bachelors of science in nursing degree from St. Louis University, which lead to nurse anesthesia school at Washington University School of Nurse Anesthesia, both in St. Louis. He lectures on dental and medical topics and their applications to airway management and implications to the delivery of anesthesia to Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Registered Nurses, Physicians, Dentists and Dental Assistants. He is the author of several articles for Nursing 2006 and 2007, and for the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, where he also serves as a journal article reviewer for both journals. He has authored chapters for the textbooks:  Nurse Anesthesia, Case Studies in Nurse Anesthesia, and Pharmacology for Nurse Anesthesiology.  He currently serves as a member of both the Parenteral Conscious Sedation Committee and Deep Sedation/General Anesthesia Committee of the Missouri Dental Board, and consulted with the rewrite of the Missouri Dental Board anesthesia rules and regulations.
Dr Mana Saraghi is a senior resident in dental anesthesiology at Jacobi Medical Center in New York.  She completed her undergraduate degree in biology at New York University, followed by her graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Putting patient safety first, Dr. Saraghi strives to allay anxiety and preempt pain. She treats patients of all ages, with an emphasis on serving those with dental phobias, developmental disabilities, and medical co-morbidities. Dr Saraghi enjoys teaching her dental colleagues. She believes that with appropriate training in patient selection and in identification, prevention, and management of medical emergencies, anxiolysis and conscious sedation may become more accessible to the dental public.
