In this interview we explore Legacy Migration Strategies – How to Develop a Risk Adjusted Roadmap to Enterprise Cloud Adoption.  The good news for many is that the religious wars about whether or not to adopt virtualization and cloud strategies appear to be over.  Clearly Cloud is here to stay.  The real question now is how to implement a strategy across all of the different aspects and environments of the cloud in a way that optimizes investments while protecting key resources.

Michael P. Binko is president/CEO and a member of the Board of Directors for kloudtrack®— a leading provider of cloud-based GRC data and process management technologies and solution services.

Prior to joining kloudtrack®, Binko was founder and currently still serves as Managing General Partner of Gemini Venture Partners LLP, an early-stage private equity and venture capital firm concentrating on technology companies in the software, SaaS|Cloud, mobile computing, communications, internet, social networking, enterprise data management, new media and related information technology sectors.

Binko earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees (with honors) in both Business Communications and English from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia.  Binko is a graduate of the Innovation Management program offered jointly by the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business and A. James Clark School of Engineering.

He has served as an instructor in the Corporate Ventures program with George Washington University (D.C. and Va.), serves as a business evaluator for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and he is an accredited practitioner in the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), designated by APR.  He was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Software Division of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA).

Binko is also a graduate of MindShare®, an invitation-only program for CEOs of disruptive/innovative companies in hyper-growth technology sectors, and serves on the MindShare Alumni Board.

Binko is an Organizing Board member for the Startup Maryland region of the Startup America Partnership.
