MCM Acquisitions Thrilled at Olympic Torch Route Through Peterborough

MCM Acquisitions was excited to learn today of the exact route that the Olympic torch will take through Peterborough. The customer acquisitions company takes a look at the route through the city.

March 19, 2012 - PRLog -- The Olympic torch will arrive in Peterborough on the 3rd of July, some 6 weeks after the torch sets off from Lands End. MCM Acquisitions believes that the route chosen through Peterborough has managed to capture the best that the city has to offer.

The flame will start its journey through Peterborough at The Nene Valley Railway Station. The NVR is a preserved railway seven and a half miles in length. It’s a fantastic venue for rail enthusiasts and gives a unique insight into Britain’s railway history. The torch will then be transported by the City of Peterborough steam engine to Orton Mere station. It will then travel up Oundle Road, onto London Road and over Town Bridge. The flame will next travel along Lower Bridge Street onto Upper Bridge Street before heading into the Cathedrals gateway.

MCM Acquisitions is delighted that the torch will visit the cathedral, a spokesperson for the company said, “It is one of the most beautiful in the UK in our opinion and is a really recognizable part of our history. It will make a fantastic backdrop.” The route will then pass through Dean’s Court, into Wheel Yard and into city road. The final part of the journey will see it travel along St John’s Street, Vineyard Road, Bishop’s Road and then on to Embankment road. The torch will leave Peterborough at 7am the next day.

Although the torch is making an extensive journey around the country not everywhere will get a visit. As a result MCM Acquisitions believes that people will come from around the county to see the torch. The team at the company will be out there with the rest of the crowds cheering the torch on its progress through the city. Peterborough City Council councillor Marco Cereste seems equally as excited at the prospect. He said, “It was a real thrill when it was confirmed the torch would come here and now it’s really starting to become a reality. Months of hard work have gone into planning the route to ensure as many residents as possible can be involved and that we show off our beautiful city.”

MCM Acquisitions is hopefully that the sun will shine on the 3rd of July, however whatever the weather it will be a fantastic day for all of the residents and businesses of Peterborough.
