Live FutureOffice Network Smartcast
Starting this year, prepare to begin distributing stacks of information, packaged into concise documents, no more than four pages front and back (eight single-sided), of their summary benefits plan coverage (SBCs). PPACA (the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) states that information must be distributed by plans and insurers beginning September 23, 2012.
For those involved, plans or insurers – not both, this means cranking it out within seven (7) days for the participants and beneficiaries. As with any policy change, there are many guidelines in place – as well as monetary fines for those who do not adhere. Steps to avoid duplication are taken as well for this policy change, for example if a policy holder resides at a different address than a participant.
Because this change takes effect quickly, plans or insurers need to understand the new requirements for group health plans and how to best strategize to prepare for this fast-approaching deadline.
Craig J. Davidson, CEBS with the FutureOffice Network will present “New 2012 Benefit Summary Requirements” on Tuesday, March 20th at 10 am.  The presentation will be repeated  at 1 pm.  All times are central time.  To sign up go to
