New Partner Enhances Bryan Cave’s Litigation Practice in Phoenix
The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP announced today that former Arizona Court of Appeals Judge Daniel A. Barker has joined the firm’s Phoenix office as a partner. He will practice within the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
“We are delighted to welcome Dan to the firm,” said Jay Zweig, managing partner of Bryan Cave’s Phoenix office. “He will be a valuable addition to the firm’s nationwide litigation practice as well as enhance the expertise we offer to clients in our Phoenix office.”
Before joining Bryan Cave, Judge Barker served on the Arizona Court of Appeals from 2001 to 2011 and as a superior court judge for the State of Arizona, Maricopa County from 1992 to 2001. As a appellate judge he has authored over 100 published opinions and over 700 memorandum decisions. While a trial judge, he presided over approximately 250 jury trials and hundreds of other proceedings. Prior to his appointment to the bench, his private practice focused on complex civil litigation.
Judge Barker received his B.A. in economics from Stanford University in 1977 and his J.D. from Brigham Young University in 1981. He was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University 1977-1978 and also earned an LL.M. in Judicial Process from the University of Virginia in 2004. He is admitted to practice in Arizona.
