ERP software, Business One update from SAP
A new version of Business One, which is a product of Enterprise Resource Planning software developer SAP will be released in 18 countries. This new version is said to be developed with small industries in mind.
Ray Boggs, vice-president of IDC, noted more than half of these companies are currently looking at deploying ERP software in their operations, while many are considering using cloud-based applications as well.
"Not everyone will move to the cloud, of course, but interest is clearly growing even among the smallest firms," he commented.
Mr Boggs added that small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) "continue to be a relatively untapped market for SaaS/ hosted solutions".
Business One OnDemand of SAP is believed to be comprehensive, easy to use and offers relatively low upfront cost.
Mr Eric Duffaut, president of Ecosystems & Channels at the technology firm, said "Now, small companies can use SAP Business One on premise or in the cloud to run their businesses better.
