By: Urbanelite PR (in association with The Hip Hop Chronicle) ELEMENTZ is a new club night celebrating the traditional elements of hip hop - deejaying & turntablism, MCs, graffiti, b-boys & b-girls, open mic, beatboxing – all knowledge under one roof. Planned as a quarterly event taking place throughout the year, the launch night takes place at Rhythm Factory, London on Thursday 26th April 2012. Each event will host some of the biggest established names on the scene, while also showcasing new emerging talent and representing hip hop culture in all its forms. Since the early days of the block parties in New York’s Bronx, hip hop has become a global phenomenon. A culture which has developed over the years representing all people irrespective of ethnic background, nationality, gender or religion. It has produced an international sense of unity, and provided a positive message through education & knowledge to inspire each new generation to achieve, and to nurture and support new creative talent. While Hip Hop Music has gone on to become a multi billion selling industry over the years, and has fragmented into various genres, the real spirit of hip hop culture remains within the various elements, practiced by those with an understanding of its principles. The events will reflect the true meaning of hip hop and takes it back to its roots – at its best live with all elements in full effect Resident DJ is London’s “1st Lady of Hip Hop” Sarah Love, established firmly within the UK's hip hop community from her days performing at the city's renowned Kung Fu events through to her work as a presenter for MTV Base and BBC Radio 1Xtra. She remains the only female dj to be nominated twice in the "Best DJ" category for a MOBO award. Still a major force in the international hip hop community, Sarah tours Europe, Australia and the United States regularly. The events are in association with leading online media outlet The Hip Hop Chronicle. As well as covering the major stories from the UK and overseas, HHC have provided exclusive footage broadcast on BET, MTV and many others. HHC will film performances and interviews to be broadcast online in the weeks following each event. For the launch event on the 26th April, there will be some legendary names from the UK scene performing. There will be DJ sets from the following: DJ 279 is one of the most respected hip hop dj's in the country and recognized internationally for his long running "Friday Night Flavas" show on Choice FM. He still represents what is regarded as the "true skool" sound of homegrown and international hip hop on his new Saturday night show. His dedication to support new emerging UK artists with their releases and providing regular freestyle showcase slots has kept this award winning DJ at the forefront of the scene nationwide. . Original "Scratch Pervert" DJ Mr Thing came to prominence in 1999 when his DJ crew won the World DJ Team Championships in New York. He was also an individual finalist in the UK Championships in 2000, coming third, and while still regularly playing sets all over the UK and Europe, has also found time to turn his hand to production, notably via his collaborations with Yungun. London's DJ Snips has developed a major international profile in recent years. His early association with London store Deal Real, well known for in store performances some years ago, established his presence within the UK hip hop community. He has since gone on to perform with Mos Def, Kanye West, Ghostface, Pete Rock and many others. A regular in London's extensive club scene and the dj of choice for several industry parties including Talib Kweli, Pharaoh Monch, Dead Prez, he held down a residency in New York during the whole of 2009. Another who has turned his hand to production, working with Stylah, Lowkey, Skinnyman, Sean Price while still running the highly popular Livin Proof nights in the city. There will be live performances from the following artists: Caxton Press have been enjoying some major recognition since the beginning of 2012 for their series of video releases taken from their new album Shame The Devil. The group includes in their number some familiar faces from the UK hip hop community, including producer DJ Snuff, well known for his End of the Weak and Speakers Corner nights he created with fellow group member Manage, and the North West Rider himself, Kingpin. Together with eMCee Killa and Amy True, the group will be performing tracks from the new album already proving popular with fans of "true skool" hip hop and soul. Genesis Elijah needs little introduction to those well versed in UK hip hop history. Since the release of his album Deh Pon Road in 2005, he has re-emerged as one of the most significant artists around today, first via his 2010 collaboration with Krate Krusaders on "Before I Was Famous" and then via a high number of video releases throughout 2011, culminating in his "I Aint Even Charging Bruv" and "Painkillers & Pilkington" EPs out now and receiving BBC Radio 1 support. He received a public endorsement from Ricky Gervais recently due to his sampling of the comedian on a recent release. Born and bred in Brixton, the hardworking MC now based in Watford will be releasing his new album "I Aint Even Started Bruv" later in 2012. The night is hosted by Mystro. A regular host of many events, his refreshing light hearted approach and sense of humour makes him a firm faviourite with UK fans. His annual UK Rap Up on BBC 1Xtra has become a new Xmas tradition, however his strong body of work over the years still maintains his position as a well respected artist. He has just launched his new "What Kind of Drug is Mystrogen" EP currently enjoying heavy support on the airwaves, coming ahead of his new album due out later in the year. There will also be showcase performances from "Ones To Watch" Naba Napalm and Ether L Banks, as the event looks to give exposure to new artists based purely on the merits of talent Room 2, which will be hosted by DJ Snuff and DJ Johny Garcia, will showcase b-boy battles, live graffiti and have an open mic session running simultaneously. Throughout the world there is a thriving community of b-boys, b-girls and graffiti artists, often overshadowed by the music arm of hip hop culture. Elementz aims to recognize the huge amount of talent which exists and give these artists a platform of expression with a higher level of media exposure than is currently the norm. DJ Snuff has over 20 years' experience within hip hop. Another who began at the Deal real store, he is founder of Speaker's Corner and developed End of the Weak into a truly international community. Together with Lowkey and Logic, he co-founded The People's Army while performing sets with luminaries such as Snoop Dogg, Afrika Bambaataa, Immortal Technique and Dead Prez. In addition to being scratch dj with the Congo Natty live band, he is now producer with Caxton Press who appear on the main stage during the event VENUE : The Rhythm Factory, 16 – 18 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1EW Nearest Tube is Aldgate East Venue Telephone number 0207 375 3774 Door Price £8.00 Tickets available in advance via TicketWeb £7.00 8pm – 3am.
