Power Design, Inc. Named as Electrical Contractor for Luxury Streamsong Resort in Central Florida

Feb. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Power Design, Inc. has been named by PCL Construction Services as the electrical contractor for Streamsong, a new luxury resort in Polk County, Fla. Construction on the project, which has an $80 million budget, started in January. Located between Tampa and Orlando, the 16,000 acre Streamsong Resort will feature a main lodge and nearby golf clubhouse offering a combined 226 guest rooms and approximately 18,500 square feet of flexible conference and meeting space. Amenities will include a full-service spa, fine and casual dining, several bars including a rooftop lounge, guided bass fishing on surrounding lakes, hiking and birding trails, a sporting clays range and two world-class golf courses.

“Power Design is excited to start a large project in the Central Florida area,” said Lauren Permuy, vice president of business development. “We are looking forward to our first project with the PCL Construction team.”

Power Design, Inc. is working under an aggressive schedule for the project, including extensive preconstruction coordination that incorporates 3D BIM modeling and Navis Works clash detection integration designed to eliminate MEP conflicts prior to construction in order to maintain the accelerated job schedule and budget. Completion of the project is expected in the fall of 2013.
