A community of attached townhomes, upon completion Victoria Cottages will be home to eight local, hardworking families. “It’s a powerful feeling working alongside your colleagues for the betterment of the community and deserving families,” said Jim Boyer, Parr Lumber Regional Operations Manager and Board Member for Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East. “As a building supply company and a family-owned business, Parr Lumber has deep roots with Habitat for Humanity in the Portland-metro area; builds are always a great time.” Nine future homeowners also worked alongside Parr Lumber employees; during lunch one future homeowner shared his story with volunteers. In September 2011 a Habitat for Humanity fleet truck was stolen from the Victoria Cottages construction site; Parr Lumber stepped in and donated one of its trucks.
