Follow on Google News | “Non-Objective Abstract Paintings by Lynne Taetzsch" at Orazio Salati Gallery in Binghamton, NYA solo exhibit of Lynne Taetzsch’s abstract paintings will be on exhibit from 2/3/12 to 3/25/12 at Orazio Salati Gallery in Binghamton, New York. The public is invited to meet the artist at receptions on First Friday February 2 and March 2 6-9 pm.
By: Lynne Taetzsch The paintings to be exhibited are all non-objective in style, meaning they are not stylized versions of reality but based on form, color, composition and emotional energy. Taetzsch is influenced by the world she sees and everything she has experienced, but she does not transcribe it directly onto the canvas. Instead, she uses acrylic paint to create an original world with its own rules and boundaries. Taetzsch was trained traditionally to translate the world around her, drawing and painting the figure, still-life, and portraits before she discovered the abstract expressionists when she was studying art at Cooper Union in NYC. Her work gradually became more and more abstract until she found her true home in non-objective painting. While Taetzsch has made art all her life, since 2000 she has been painting full-time in her studio in Ithaca, NY. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums through the US and abroad. Recently she’s exhibited at the Auburn Museum, the Johnson Museum of Art in Ithaca, and currently at The Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca (now until the end of April). # # # Modern art studio with original paintings and abstract prints on canvas available for homes or offices.
