Dynetics achieves AS9100 Rev C Certification

Jan. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Jan. 17, 2012 – Dynetics recently achieved the most current quality management standard certification for the aerospace industry, AS9100 Rev C, for its Huntsville facilities.

AS9100 is a globally harmonized aerospace standard for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and service based on the internationally renowned ISO 9001:2008 quality management system standards. This standard applies to all components of the industry from suppliers to manufacturers of aircrafts and aerospace vehicles, emphasizes the critical aspects of key characteristics, and focuses on the need to satisfy internal, government and regulatory requirements.

Receipt of this certification corroborates Dynetics’ Quality Management System as applicable to the design, manufacture, production, testing, research and development of government systems and projects, commercial electronic diagnostic equipment, and space systems, test stands and ground support equipment, as required by contract.

Dynetics had previously been certified to AS9100 Rev B and ISO 9001:2008, but elected to upgrade to AS9100 Rev C to meet the aerospace and defense industries’ newest and highest standards of quality, according to, Dynetics Senior Vice President Mike DeMaioribus, who is also the director of Quality Systems for the company.

The AS9100 Revision C requirements call for a sharper focus on planning and project management, as well as a greater emphasis on risk management and mitigation, on-time delivery performance, formal monitoring of customer satisfaction trends and formal plans to ensure continual improvement.

Dynetics received the Rev C certification following an outside audit performed by TUV U.S.A., a recognized leader in the certification industry.  Attaining this next level of certification is a part of the organization’s ongoing effort to continually improve the effectiveness of its quality system and to meet or exceed customer requirements.

The company is expanding its Huntsville facilities by building a new 226,500 square feet high-tech R&D facility and has recently began work on multiple new aerospace and defense contracts, including the new Stratolaunch Air Launch System. With the expanded facility and AS9100C certification, Dynetics is well-positioned to take advantage of large-scale opportunities in the aerospace and defense industries.”

Dynetics joins the select global companies that are members of the International Aerospace Quality Group – Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (IAQG-OASIS) – a directory of certified suppliers maintained by SAE International. The mission of the IAQG is to improve product quality and on-time delivery of products. This is achieved through the implementation of initiatives intended to make significant improvements in quality and reductions in cost throughout the value stream.
