Holiday dating for single women: Five Christmastime clues he’s not serious about you

Serial dater shares secret clues to your romantic situation. See the holiday red flags that show what your man really thinks about your relationship.

Dec. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- SHREVEPORT, LA – The holidays mean family and time with that “special someone” for many people, but if you’re not quite sure of the status of your relationship, the holidays can be confusing and even a bit sad.

If that’s your situation though, help is here. Author Rodney L. Demery uses his background as a detective and a serial dater to help women all over uncover the real meaning behind guys’ words and actions.

He combines his serial dating experience and 22 years as a police officer investigating everything from homicides to sex crimes to give women a crash course in deciphering relationships, including their own.

The holidays can be stressful for women who are unsure of their status, says Demery, author of Things My Daughters Need to Know: A Cop and Father's View of Sex, Relationships and Happiness. Demery wrote the book based on his own experiences and the observations he has made as a homicide detective investigating relationships gone wrong, among other things. His insight can help women see past the pretty smiles and empty words of the men they date.

Here, Demery shares five holiday dating signs that show your man is not serious about you:

1.   He is suddenly missing in action. If your guy suddenly is nowhere to be found as it gets closer to Christmas, there is a good chance he’s hoping to avoid the holidays with you. But chances are, he’s spending them with somebody.
2.   Silly fights. If you notice your guy has suddenly started to fight with you about silly things or the rate of disagreement has increased lately, your man could be trying to force a breakup.
3.   No gift-giving. Of course when it comes to gift-giving, it’s the thought that counts, right? Well, if your man doesn’t give you anything at all, then you can be sure you’re pretty far from his thoughts. And if you don’t even cross his mind other than for a midnight run, is that the relationship you want?
4.   Working on Christmas. Of course many people work on Christmas. But if your man’s work schedule has never included weekends or holidays and he suddenly tells you he has to work on Christmas, there is a good chance he’s telling you he will be busy so he can spend time with someone else or at the least, not spend time with you.
5.   Breakup. Well, if your man breaks up with you during the holidays, that is a pretty clear sign the relationship is over, right? Well, maybe, maybe not. Some guys break up during the holidays only to make up after the gift-giving time has passed. If this happens to you and your man tries to make amends after the holidays, you’ll have to decide if you’re willing to continue in a dating situation where your man feels he can kick you to the curb and then pick you up at will.

Use these tips to figure out if your guy is serious about you this holiday season, and determine if it’s a relationship worth carrying into the New Year.
