Nov. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- (Birmingham, AL) November 15, 2011 – Birmingham burger lovers should beef up their appetites for the newest arrival to the local restaurant scene. This winter, the state’s first MOOYAH will give residents something fresh and real to sink their teeth into. The award-winning better burger brand is “moo-ving” into Jefferson and Shelby counties, with more restaurants on the way soon after.

MOOYAH, while known for fast casual, friendly service, is famous for its high quality burgers, daily baked fresh buns, hand-cut fries and hand-crafted milkshakes. Burgers are made from real meat: never-frozen, 100 percent lean American beef that doesn’t include additives, fillers or preservatives.

Denney Barrow, with sons Josh Barrow and Jordan Barrow, all Birmingham natives and the newest MOOYAH franchisees, plan to open 10 to 12 restaurants in Jefferson, Shelby, Tuscaloosa, Madison, and Montgomery counties. While these restaurants mark Alabama’s firsts, the burger brand has seen exponential growth nationally and proven again and again that its burgers are deservedly leading the popular better burger segment.

“MOOYAH’s food is one-of-a-kind, and we know the community is going to love it,” says Barrow. “It’s high quality, fresh food that is fun for young adults, working men and families. Anyone can walk into their neighborhood MOOYAH and get their burger made to order, their way and served with the perfect sides: fresh French fries and hand-crafted milkshakes.”

When deciding to make the newest restaurant a family venture, Barrow explains, “MOOYAH is a perfect fit with who we are and what we were looking for. We love the product, we love the atmosphere, and our ideals of family businesses match with theirs.”

For MOOYAH, every burger includes a choice of special sauces, fresh veggies, and four kinds of cheese. Health conscious Guests love the “Iceburger,” a patty wrapped in hand leafed lettuce. Black bean burgers and turkey burgers are also favorites for those looking for an alternative to red meat. Each bun is freshly baked on site.

Fries are made from potatoes that are hand-cut in house and flawlessly fried in trans-fat free oil. Real ice cream milkshakes are hand-spun and come in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or Oreo.

In addition to ten new locations in Alabama, MOOYAH is also opening restaurants in Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C.

The neighborhood burger brand has consistently ranked in the top ten of FastCasual.com’s annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list for several years in a row. BurgerBusiness, an online news site dedicated exclusively to the burger biz, included MOOYAH in its list of “11 Burger Chains to Watch in 2011.”

Alan Hixon, the chain’s president who spearheaded the growth of the restaurant from local cult classic to booming national burger business, was recently named one of “10 Restaurant Execs to Watch in 2011” by Nation’s Restaurant News.

“Our goal is to provide each guest with the best burger and fry experience ever and have fun doing it,” says Hixon. "We want everyone to enjoy their burger, their way in a fun, upbeat environment."
