Callaway Gardens Offers Spectaular Thanksgiving Dining

Nov. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- PINE MOUNTAIN, GA – This year enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at Callaway Gardens® and spend a day relaxing with family and friends.  Callaway’s culinary team, led by Executive Chef Joe Malone, is prepared to make your Thanksgiving experience as delicious as it is memorable.

The Mountain Creek Inn’s Plant Room Restaurant will offer a bountiful buffet including House Smoked Turkey with Giblet Gravy; Pan Roasted Red Snapper with Chives, Lemon Herbed Remoulade and Sun Dried Tomatoes; Beef Wellington with Cabernet Sauvignon Demi Glace; Sugar Cured Root Beer Ham with Peach Brandy Reduction and more.  A special Children’s Buffet will include chicken nuggets, green beans, macaroni and cheese, and more.

The Gardens Restaurant’s Thanksgiving offerings will have a Southern flare with such regional classics as Candied Butternut Squash Bisque and Seared Lemon Marinated Shrimp to get things started.  Entrée choices include Smoked Tom Turkey with Wild Mushroom and Sausage Stuffing, plus Herbed Cornbread Dressing, Buttermilk Mashed Fingerling Potatoes, and Cranberry Compote; Apple and Pistachio Stuffed Pork Chop with Mint Demi Glace, and Twice Baked Sweet Potato with Maple, Roasted Petite Root Vegetables; Pan Roasted Carolina Rainbow Trout with Marbled Fingerling Potato Hash, Sautéed Local Baby Spinach and Lemon Buerre; and Roasted Cornish Hen with Pancetta Gravy with Horseradish and Smoked Cheddar Purple Potato, Collard Green  Ragout.  

Hours and prices (not including tax and gratuity) for the Callaway Gardens Thanksgiving dinners are:

Plant Room Restaurant – $28.95 per adult; $14.50 per child ages 6-12; children 5 and younger dine free.  Open 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations not accepted.

Gardens Restaurant – $38.95 per adult; $19.50 per child ages 6-12; children 5 and younger dine free.  Open 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Reservations required. Call 706-663-2281, ext. 5311.

Enjoy the dinner and stay for the show.  Fantasy In Lights®, the South’s most spectacular holiday light and sound show, is open nightly through December 30, 2011, including Thanksgiving.  Fantasy In Lights provides great evening entertainment for family and friends.
