Nov. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Shannon Plummer is a thoroughly modern woman with an old-fashion passion – doing whatever she can to help Australian native animals.

Now, the celebrated, award-winning photographer has turned her talents to try to save the endangered Tasmanian Devil.

Her imaginative work has captured Australian reptiles and their handlers to create The Australian Girls of Herpetology calendars as a fundraiser for Devil Ark, a project developed primarily to save the Tasmanian Devil from extinction. Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians.

The calendars are a hit and now a film company, MAD Australia Productions, is making a “behind-the-scenes” documentary detailing the art and passion of Shannon Plummer.

While decidedly more comfortable directing her shoots, the usually shy but very photogenic Shannon is learning to respond reluctantly to the documentary director’s call of “Action,” busily capturing what once was her very own secret woman’s business.

Release prepared by MAD Australia Productions.
