Nov. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- No one enters into a marriage or life commitment with another, anticipating they may someday need the services of an attorney to facilitate ending that relationship. However, if that process is handled by a knowledgeable, compassionate, experienced legal advocate, the crucial decisions needing to be made will result in a positive, satisfactory outcome. Lori Saxion, PLLC has tailored her family law practice to meet specific, individual needs and the unique circumstances of families. Today, her law offices celebrate 21 successful years of serving Western Washington residents. http://saxionlawoffices.com

During an exclusive interview with Beth Neibert, Lori Saxion had this to say about what’s kept her business thriving for 21 years:

“Prior to getting my law degree, I worked as a Legal Secretary which soon bloomed into a Paralegal position where I worked at a Seattle Law Firm for nine years. Doing the work as a Paralegal, interviewing clients and preparing cases for hearings, peeked my interest. The idea of being able to go to court for our clients and see their cases all the way through to fruition, seemed much more rewarding to me. With the encouragement of the four lawyers I worked for, I decided to pursue my law degree and, in 1990, launched my own practice.

I love the challenges associated with navigating the complexities and strategies of each unique case and, discovering a deeper and more meaningful natural talent, I enjoyed de-mystifying the steps and explaining the entire legal process to our clients. For many, it can be an overwhelming, emotional and stressful process during a time in their lives when the world sometimes feels like it’s crashing down on them. I attribute my twenty nine year success to this personalized approach; much different than the stories I hear about my peers.

Clients love the way I explain the entire process and let them know what they can expect. I take the time to educate them about the law itself and how it applies to their unique and individual situations. We’re known as the “hand-holding law offices” and it’s why approximately 95% of my clientele is generated from referrals from past clients, their therapists and counselors. It’s also not uncommon for me to receive a referral from the opposing party in a case.”

One such client, Dave Y., had this to say, “I hired Ms Saxion in 2007 for a child custody case.  She did an amazing job for me; my case unfortunately lasted for a little over a year and had to go to trial.  She lived up to her promise to keep me informed, answered all my questions, and her rates were far lower than other attorneys who have even less experience, as I had called around before hiring her. She and her office staff were very courteous and compassionate.  Since concluding my case in late 2008, I have sent three referrals to Ms Saxion and every single person has told me they are happy with her and would also refer others!!”

Despite the sensitive, helpful side her clients witness within her offices, Ms. Saxion’s representation in each case can vary, from an extremely aggressive, tenacious, immediate judicial and law enforcement intervention approach or a friendly, amicable, persuasive negotiating forum through mediation and alternative dispute resolution.

When I asked Lori what she has done to help her clients during the national economic crunch, she had this to say, “Four years ago I froze my fees. Not only that, but my downtown peers bill separately for their paralegal time, whereas I bill only for the time that I personally work on the file. This saves people about half of the billable time and provides a more affordable choice.”

Her approach was validated by Mr. A. T.’s comments, “Ms. Saxion has represented me now in two separate actions; my original divorce and a parenting modification about two years later.  I would go back to her again if I needed to and I will refer others.  She was very informative and if she didn’t return my call the day I called her, she would call the next day.  All of the issues that she addressed when we first met and the advice she gave me was exactly the way the case turned out, and for a father trying to gain custody of his kids, that was extremely important to me.  I also shopped several experienced lawyers before hiring Ms Saxion and her hourly rate was quite a bit lower than theirs.  I would go back to her again if I needed legal help.”

With a focus in Family Law, Lori Saxion and her team provide the following services and more: divorce, legal separations, domestic partnerships, parenting plans, child custody, child and spousal support, domestic violence protection orders, simple wills and health care directives.

What many people don’t know is that, in addition to her law degree, Lori Saxion has a Bachelor of Sciences, Bachelor in Equestrian Sciences Degrees and actually moved from Pennsylvania to Washington at the age of twenty one to train horses. The same tenacity and determination she used to work with animals has served her well in running her offices and supporting her clients. An avid skier and scuba diver, Ms. Saxion loves the playground of the Pacific Northwest where her daughter’s family also resides.
