Local Entrepreneur Lorelei Burgess Opens New Centre for Early Learning in Bedford

Oct. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Lorelei Burgess, Local mom and award-winning entrepreneur, will be opening a new Oxford Learning centre for early learning in Bedford in the fall or 2011. Lorelei is currently the centre director for two other Oxford Learning locations in the HRM, and she is excited about extending their programs into the Bedford area.

A passionate believer in helping children succeed, Lorelei believes that all children have the potential to excel. Because learning and the love of learning begin at an early age, Lorelei is committed to providing the best programming for early learning in Bedford, Halifax and Hammonds Plains.

Lorelei graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Commerce then joined the team at the Maritime Business College, her family business.  Lorelei witnessed the results that Oxford Learning’s programs had for her sister, and she was determined to help other children have those same results. Lorelei pursued an opportunity with the franchise and opened the first location in Halifax in 1999. The Hammonds Plains location followed in 2009, and the Bedford location will open this fall.

Winner of the Newman Family Business Award and Sagewood Award for Entrepreneurship, Lorelei is currently a member of Oxford Learning’s Franchisee Advisory Council, momcafe Halifax, Centre for Women in Business and Moms the Word.
