| Local Oprah Winfrey Show Fan Receives 2012 Beetle From "Ultimate Favorite Things" EpisodeThe all-new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle roars into Thompson Volkswagen
By: Bethany Pocceschi Luther was one of 275 audience members who won a new 2012 Beetle during the last season of The Oprah Winfrey Show. “This is one powerful, sophisticated, sexy Beetle,” Oprah told her viewers. “All of you in this audience will be the first people in the world to own one when it makes its debut next year!” Luther was all smiles when she picked up her new silver Beetle at Thompson Volkswagen in Warrington on Thursday, October 13th. “I had a Beetle in the late ‘60s,” she said as she opened the door and stepped in, “A blue Beetle that I shared with my mother! This is much bigger than the original.” Redesigned for only the second time in history, the sportier 2012 Beetle is a modern interpretation of the iconic Beetle design. It balances classic beauty with modern edge and no-compromise German engineering, offering enhanced performance and fun-to-drive dynamics that define the Volkswagen driving experience. “We are extremely pleased that Mrs. Luther was honored with this new Beetle,” said Laura Thompson Barnes, Vice President of The Thompson Organization. “She was thrilled with Oprah, thrilled with VW, thrilled with Thompson Volkswagen and totally thrilled with her new Beetle!” When asked about the Queen of Daytime TV, Luther had only glowing remarks. “I just can’t say enough about how gracious Oprah was – and her entire staff was professional, loving and warm. I was very humbled by the whole thing; it is just an experience I will never forget.” # # # In business in Doylestown since 1969, The Thompson Organization includes Thompson Toyota, Scion, Lexus, and BMW, Thompson Detail Center, Thompson Used Car & Truck Center and Thompson Rent A Car, all located at Routes 313 and 611 in Doylestown; Audi Warrington, Porsche of Bucks County and Thompson Volkswagen, located on Route 611 in Warrington; and the Thompson Collision Center located on Route 611 in Plumsteadville.
