| SimplyRFiD Responds as DOD Mandate Gets SeriousThe Dept of Defense (DOD) announced it will enforce an October 1, 2011, deadline for compliance with the mandate to apply RFID (Radio-frequency identification) tags to military shipments. SimplyRFiD stocked 500,000 tags for preferred customers.
By: SimplyRFID "The DOD has solid reasons for demanding RFID compliance," Carl Brown, SimplyRFiD President, agrees. "The DOD went into this program hoping for a good productivity result. The data from their studies proved the concept, so it only makes business sense for both the suppliers and the government to tighten up this program. Lack of compliance costs money for everyone." SimplyRFiD let out the word early to its own customers, saying it would be sure to keep the operation running late and stock up on tags, so that everyone could meet the demands. SimplyRFiD customers enjoy free software with each order that allows them to upload their shipping paperwork in the correct format for compliance with the mandate.
