Follow on Google News | Free Creative Economy Coaching to 10 Somerset Visual Artists now availableFree Coaching and business development workshops for 10 Visual Artists in Somerset. This has been made possible thanks to Somerset County Council 50% match funding through the Creative Industries Development Fund.
By: New Leaf Life Design Becky Wright The Project will recruit 10 visual artists who are sole traders / small businesses, 5 will need to be start ups and 5 more established artists. An application process will ensure that all participants are committed to sustainable business development. Priority will be given to applicants who have not benefitted from training and business development initiatives previously offered for the creative sector in Somerset. These participants will be visual artists sole traders but will not exclude applications from sole traders working in the creative sector. Becky Wright Coach for New Leaf Life Design said, “We are delighted to be offer ten Somerset Visual Artists this unique offer, last year was a huge sucess and its on this merit that we have been given the green light once again. Participants will not only receive two sessions of free coaching but be able to participate in 4 evening workshops which have been tailor made to support them in digital media, sales and marketing. The coaching aims to develop a stronger sustainable business model. The sector generates approximately £400 million in output per annum in the county and forms a growing part of Somerset’s economy. The creative economy also contributes to the vitality, identity and cultural development of the county. Katie Venner will be Project Advisor to New Leaf Life Design. She has extensive experience of the Creative Industries as a coach and action learning set facilitator. The only cost involved for the 10 chosen artists will be £5 per workshop to cover food costs. Workshops will be open to a further 10 participants who are involved in Creative Industries in Somerset, cost to external participants £25 per workshop. End
