Thomas William Furniture To Exhibit At Historic Shaw Art Show
Tom Dumke, Furniture Maker, returns to Historic Shaw Show
By: Linda Dumke
Tom Dumke, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, specializes in woodworking, specifically handcrafted furniture. He has been making furniture for the past twenty-six years.
Dumke created his business Thomas William Furniture and his widely collected work has been exhibited throughout the United States. His work has sharp, clean lines and is simplistic in form, allowing it to fit with many styles of décor. His furniture is functional, practical, and also a work of art.
Each piece is constructed in a traditional manner and all are made of solid wood. He designs his furniture based on the figure and pattern of the wood. He incorporates different woods throughout each piece including cherry, black walnut, maple, and birch. Dumke has mastered the traditional methods of woodworking and this is reflected in his craftsmanship of custom, wood furniture.
This is the second time that Dumke has exhibited his furniture at the Historic Shaw Art Show. Last year, he was presented with an award, Third Place/Fine Craft. Dumke hopes to expose the quality of hand crafted solid wood furniture and that people will enjoy it and experience something new. http://www.thomaswilliamfurniture.com
